We are proud of our list of 2016 services to our ALS community. We are looking forward to exceeding these in 2017!
550 pALS served by our various programs.
4,600 individual contacts with pALS and family members.
300+ Loan Closet items loaned during 2016 and more than 400 items in total currently on loan to pALS and our Loan Closet boasts over 700 items in total.
130 pALS and families received Respite Care Assistance at a cost approaching $130,000 and almost 8,500 hours of care from over 64 different home health agencies.
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Center evaluated or consulted with 68 pALS resulting in more than 350 contacts and tranings.
Purchased and direct shipped over 100 items for pALS around the State.
Support Groups - 96 Individual Support Groups held with more than 1,000 individual attendees at seven 7 locations including: Lansing, Midland (2 groups), Northville, Port Huron, Sterling Heights, Southfield.
Workshops and Seminars - Hosted seven (7) Workshops and Seminars including: The Hospice Choice for pALS; Talk to Your Children and Grandchildren About ALS; ALS Research Update; Eye Gaze for pALS; Information Connection (2) in Midland and Southfield; and Accessible Homes. Also made three (3) presentations to local Home Healthcare agencies about ALS.
Distributed supplemental nutrition and personal care items to pALS including scoop plates, built up silverware, T-handle cups, gait belts, adult briefs, and more.
The HFHS clinic social work professional was provided by ALS of Michigan. Purchased items for the clinics including finger splints, cervical collars, wrist splints, and more.
